I'll keep this short time: Who is old-established DT fan who she likes for their technical playfulness and detested the band Muse, which is, just like me, with "Octavarium" badly served. It's just not really a DT album. In one sentence, it seems to me like the positive twin of Train of Thought. There, the Progressive was already cut back a little. On Octavarium however is almost nothing more left of it - let alone surprisingly new. Limited mostly to tempo changes, hardly more crazy time signatures. Prog-Light if you will. I would not go so far as to call it a bad album. But disappointing for old DT fans. In short, probably far weakest DT album for me (yes, I have them all here standing).
