At first glance, the Saeco is naturally persuasive. Everything seems to be true plus for techies the Android / Apple control.
The device would simply have better control on the device itself, an app would of course be unnecessary. But of course has an app a certain charm.
He has, however, done quickly for Android users, at least for the majority. I have 14 Android devices tested (my own and in the company). Works have exactly zero. On any device the app was installed.
In fact, it will work only a few Android devices and (perhaps) iPads.
Addendum: In our company, an employee has an iPad - he has tried everything and no Connect was possible.
With regard to the operation annoys me the operation via knob at the Melitta. Only to reduce the buttons and make it seem simple, suffers the effective use. It somehow just devices for technically completely inexperienced people produced.
The Saeco is very modern in terms of operation. At the very beginning is striking that there is no programmable key: Many coffee preparations can be reached by direct key, but the rest only via the menu.
Assuming a cup or - worse a double cup - under the outlet, you have to position them very closely, because otherwise everything is going wrong. It lacks a bulge in the milk container.
At first I was still very happy with the result. After a short time there was an increasing number of disappointments:
The froth was excellent even at 1.5% lactic. But after 10 cups no longer.
The pulp container to be emptied frequently, although only 2 coffee remains are there. Under (!) The pulp container is a tray for residual liquid. One part is covered with a plastic plate. Fiddly to clean. Ever everything is a little fiddly and nothing snaps precisely.
Really no fun makes cleaning the milk container. What a circus. The parts must be taken apart and soaked.
The cleaning of the Melitta is essential (!) Easier and especially office-compatible.
The Saeco looks chic, but really suitable for the office, the machine is not.
Who likes to drink a lot of coffee (for some coffee drinkers like the sound after-enriched water) and like to use cups with more than 200ml can at Saeco max. 170ml coffee, it can pour tons of milk. Exception: Coffee Americano, since 320ml go.
The Melitta allows 220ml.
The milk supply is at Saeco not selected per ml, but by time. Who has the only thought? So you choose different settings until you finally catch the right amount of milk.
The coffee bean container is, once removed, is difficult to reinstate. Annoying solved.
The water tank is taken out with the plastic cover, which is attached to the sides. Looks fragile and it will be. For this, the solution is not practical.
Too bad, because I would have liked to keep the gadget. But the Melitta is so much more practical and more robust.
