"Pure Reason Must Never Win" was my first album of Tocotronic and I was thrilled. the album went to in my circle of friends like hotcakes - seriously. everyone loved it. the name Tocotronic we knew previously only of "This Boy is Tocotronic".

In any case, the album could not leave for weeks my CD player and when I hear the songs I still think back to this wonderful time. since Tocotronic is for me the summer and - I know, sounds strange - play chess. and without which no longer goes. I love the album.

and to all the bekritiken the album:

subsequently (ie so two years later) I've sometimes the other albums by Tocotronic concerned and only the best songs of other albums could cooperate with me the same status as "pure reason must never siege" reach. The album is an absolute hit.

with the texts I am also satisfied. I find that the trend of the album "Tocotronic" track and leave more room for free interpretations as they really (!) are abstract. the beats are not monotonous special einHÄMMERND and leave the head and no longer when they are inside once.

in the song "Pure Reason ..." I always get goose bumps when my line "we are so light that we fly ..." is repeatedly smashed violently opposed. the entire song works on this line towards the climax. the emotional explosion that I just always sweeps away (needs to be heard loud).
