Transnational is not a bad album, ansich I would not say that certain songs are bad.
However, for a VNV Nation album it looks shallow, uninspired and is unfortunately only average.
Lyrics and melodies seem always cheerful and cheesy. Nothing against positive or cheerful-looking songs, only drive them further and further into inconsequential.
On the snippets I had been looking back to hear more Future-pop "spacey" sound melodies, unfortunately were from these non really what brought out.
Ansich offer many melodies and a lot of potential title only this was not exploited.
Happy I had the TeleConnect songs, lyrically is especially the first also very strong, unfortunately does not fit here the melody. Part 2 is one of the few bright spots of the album although lyrically somewhat weaker than Pt.1.
Retaliate and Aero Cape extremely sting from the album out simply because they are different and experiment as opposed to the pop-joyful rest. Nevertheless Aero Scope will not really ignite.
Lost Horizon starts super and also the Zwischenelodien are nice, but the "Chorus Part" is simply boring and not fun. And I like to listen to more Dance / Trancelastigere things.
Off Screen is making a solid VNV song of fun.
What remains are less than a handful of titles that are worthwhile and a rather disappointing rest. If one has to Automatic noticed already isolated a development then it is on Transnational what a very similar path goes, but clearly.
Sorry, slips all a bit in the kitsch and uninspired. And that is even now going super show songs like Retaliate, Off Screen and if you turn the little TeleConnect Parts.
Perhaps there will someday Reformation 2 out and because the gold pieces are then hidden as in the first already.
