This triple CD offers three hours of music at an exceptional level. Forget all the cliches lurking on Mendelssohn. The last quartet goes as far as possible in the romantic expression of pain (the death of Fanny, her sister). We are at the greatest Beethoven. This is, for me, the greatest ever written by this composer page. The performers are up.
