The Road Chosen (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The Road Chosen is exactly the appropriate title for the new album by Ryan McGarvey. The way one has even taken ....
He has opted for the somewhat harder line in Blues, exceptions are quite welcome and desired.

Is it just my listening habits or have other also the same experience: a few new releases sound somehow a little Bonamassa.
I want to insinuate anything, but some of the tracks on this album could be located on a well Bonamassa album, which again is not meant negatively.
Or is it the other way around: Bonamassa sounds like McGarvey?
Anyway, Ryan McGarvey is also on his new album is an excellent, even outstanding guitarist. He may simply he has everything on the 6 strings, nimble fingers on top of that.
It will certainly be written about this album, it has become good on its territory a hammer.
Memphis is the opener, the song know many of the tour in the spring-summer, where he played it at every concert. Fading Away is a premier blues rocker, a little quieter it comes to Little Red Riding Hood to but again, he knows skillfully use the wah-wah pedal.
My Heart to you is a great ballad with wonderful guitar riffs in the last part of the song.
Firework Eyes, the name says it all: Ryan McGarvey burning fireworks on his guitar off, boogie-fast fingers.
Burnin 'Alive is a quiet point which he has sung class. It is the song which makes me think of JB somehow ... for whatever reason.
Goodbye Blues is my favorite next to Memphis. Pumping bass and the only song with a B3 (Brent Leeper) like the fist fits exactly on the eye; it should in this song.
Always & Forever begins with an acoustic guitar, and then glides smoothly over into a slow blues at its best. Wish I was your Man is again a class blues rocker.
In Mean Thing is really off the post, unfortunately, the song is only 2:49 minutes ... it please more the next time.
To an End, the name says it all: the last song on the album and just the teaser to hear again what you have just heard in the almost 43 minutes.
