At first the positive things:
- As expected, the game features a great graphic. The environment is very realistic, natural and human, of course,
- The interaction with the environment has been improved. I can visit bars and shops, while chases jumping through open windows. Finally there are also coaches that make up a moving haystack perfect hiding places. Likewise, one can hide behind corners and finite cower into the tall grass. That I missed long. If one runs towards a certain way on fences or low walls, you can jump over it sent without additional set up. By splitting off the ground, you can also slip. The trees are finally 'walkable'. You can climb up and jump in forests from tree to tree. In the crowd you can move much better and hide. You can eavesdrop and track distance dependent.
What is unfortunately noticed negatively me:
- The control system was completely changed! Namely nciht just for the better. I was with the old control and the old screen appearance (live display, weapon selection, map etc) always very satisfied and had to now deal with this new version suddenly. Improvements I have not noticed. On the contrary: where to go before, go quickly, running and sprinting (= jump and climb) was, you can now just go, go quickly (which is just as fast as go) and Sprint. The result is that Connor wants to climb to every conceivable corner on anything without that one can prohibit it to him somehow.
- In the new combat system you will never introduced. Instead, the situation of the trainees Assassins to use and incorporate workouts, this part will be skipped. Man goes to his tutor, followed by a short video sequence, the "three years later ..." ends with and already you can do everything without even knowing only the approach of how to do it. It ends the game without all the movements to have been exhausted, because you never learned it.
- As indicated above, also the interface has changed. There is no clear health indicator more. I can not see: ah, I still have another one or two or a strong. There is only one bar that grows and shrinks little comprehensible. Also there is no more medicine to heal.
- There is no more equipment options! That really irritates me, because since AC2 there was the possibility of his character with armor and weapons 'polish'. It raises money and then outputs it as the RPG in shops for weapons, armor, ammunition, bombs, medicine etc from. I thought that was always great because you had such a possibility to personalize his assassins. Depending on what you prefer for weapons, you could just buy these extra and mess with the gameplay ever better armor, the whole thing shook things up visually.
- Connor has no hook blade. After this has just been introduced in AC Revelations only and thus was a terrific way to get casual about ziplines from rooftop to rooftop, it is now simply no longer exists. Pity!
- On the roofs are too many guards who still are so persistent and aggressive that it is not worthwhile to climb. Dear one remains on safe ground, where there is also still all the hiding and you will not be constantly attacked.
- If one was once discovered it is hardly possible at the beginning to be incognito again. Profiles are no longer displayed on the map, you have to search laboriously and if you're a soldier only in view, it is as good as delivered.
- The new trading opportunities of the settlement are not really useful. What should I do with the money that I get as a result? In addition, it is poorly explained, I still do not know really how it is to operate. But I have, as I said, also no incentive to do that, because I can not buy it to me anyway.
- The new character Connor is unsympathetic and does not have a good personality. He is disrespectful towards his master, will always head against the wall, is completely uncooperative towards allies. Ezio one learned as a young womanizer know who had to find his way yet. He is authentic, has a character, in whose development we were able to be there. In Assassins Creed 3 everything goes too fast. Before we know it, Connor is already a finished Assassin. As I said, no education, no development, no character.
- The story is poorly told. Man is not pulled into the spell, because you the story too often can not follow properly. There is only one really good turn right at the beginning of the game, then the plot remains linear and rather dreary. The characters are not told enough, there is no mood for Connors situation.
- The two cities New York and Boston are almost the same. By setting there are no special attractions that you want to explore. I remember the great, histrorischen building of predecessors. Where we are not already climbing around everywhere? And in Assassins Creed 3? Nothing of it. Not even spectacular viewpoints there. They all look the same.
- The cities are not used by the game enough. If you want, you can view them. However, you can also exit without seeing even 3/4 of the game. This fact helps that no real atmosphere will arise ...
- Nonsensical side missions. For example, there missions where you 'bring letters' should. This is only the fact that you talk to any people who would like to thank. I still have no idea what that was? What do you do there? For whom and why? And what does that have to do with me? Many of these missions are not explained.
And finally: Why the hell should I suddenly sail with an assassin across the oceans? Obviously, these sea mission addicts prepare many players fun. However, I wonder what that has to do with Assassin's Creed? Why does not Ubisoft then a seafaring RPG? I want no ships go, I will sneak through cities, climbing on roofs, I want assassins gather in secret headquarters, I will defeat the Templars and I will assassinate. But deny any naval battles ?!
Generally, Connor is not a great assassin who wants to preserve society from ruin and whose goal is to defeat the Templars. Its aim is only to take revenge. That's all.
I'm disappointed. Assassin's Creed is no longer what it once was. This game misses its powder directly at the beginning. The first few hours are great; Connor once appears on the screen, the game is over.
In the end, everyone has to decide if he likes this game or not, of course, themselves. For me, it is, however, no more Assassins Creed.
