The Light at the End of the World (Audio CD)

Customer Review

A Flock of Seagulls looked like a mix of the Buggles ("Video Killed the Radio Star") and Depeche Mode, as they deal with such hits as "I Ran" and "Space Age Love Song" to all the other new wave synthpop combos joined, the sonicated those now so distant time with their danceable earwigs.

The end of 1982 then the career climax with the wonderfully dramatic "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)", to which I have shed many tears, and was allowed to date again resound in the movie "Dorfpunks". In the spring of 1983, their most successful album lists in the shops, on which the song was also included.

A year later, there was still a hit with the fine "The More You Live, The More You Love", while their third album THE STORY OF A YOUNG HEART no longer lit really.

After a completely defunct fourth album came the end for AFoS 1986.

Forget it! Pardon, men - - the guys For 1995, from Liverpool back on again as Kai out of the box. And their fifth album THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE WORLD did exactly up where they left off in their great times between '82 and '84.

As had absolutely in the field of popular music largely electronically generated in the past more than ten years, nothing happened (house, techno), A Flock of Seagulls lined up a catchy song to the other. And everything, absolutely everything was suddenly back: this old, analog synthesizer, this absolutely typical guitar sounds and, of course, this pleasant, bright singing voice of Mike Score.

The album was released only in the US and was a flop. Today you have to invest a lot of dirt to call his own CD allowed. Because everyone should decide for themselves whether it is worth a small fortune this disc.

A little tip: as .mp3 file from the Internet's much cheaper ;-)
