I got to know TBR by the brilliant "Diamonds" early 2014. "Wow, great debut," I thought to myself. Surprised Fools Gold! Have later heard some songs from "Promises" and then found that this chapel is gone for 10 years completely past me. Sometimes I wonder what planet I actually live, Internet or not. But back to topic: "The Cold Still" is very nice digipack with beautifully framed stapled booklet therefore. The texts are indeed sometimes difficult to decipher, but the art sets the direction. Stands out in my ears "Caught By The Light", a wonderfully melancholic piece that it immediately in my "too much to die" playlist (including The National, Tom McRae and Slowdive) has managed. "Step Out Of The Car" is driving, "Organ Song" sounds even a bit folky, both songs I like also very good. Overall a good album, which already gives me joy now to the two very old records of TBR. Then there is yet again beautiful, with a lot of material to discover an "old" band.
