The title and the cover art complement each other perfectly with the necessary music. Instead of over-technological, synthetic sounds one finds extended vocal, tw. even a cappella. Typical for Jethro Tull elements, esp. Ian Anderson's flute, of course, come not too short. From listening experience her album drops on the one hand due to a return to simple means, of course, well arranged and edited, and secondly because of the lively, cheerful mood, which mediate the "Songs of the Forest", out of the ordinary. In addition to the title track and the single "The Whistler" earn provided with harder guitar riffs "Hunting Girl" or "Ring Out, Solstice Bells" special mention. Overall, not the most popular or successful, but certainly one of the most original albums JT. For all "newcomers" nor a partial list of song classics or other Insider CDs: "Locomotive Breath", "Aqualung", "Too Old to Rock & Roll, Too Young To Die", "Bungle In The Jungle", " Flyingdale Flyer "," Heavy Horses "," Pussy Willow "," Farm On The Freeway "," Another Christmas Song "and" Roots To Branches ".
