Guild Wars 2 (computer game)

Customer Review

It's been one month that I play and I was told that I will wait to have seen a little more before posting a comment.

First, concerning connection problems, etc. Guild Wars 2 was somewhat a victim of its success (and they are also the suspend sales for some time to add new servers). Compared to the launch, I must say that I have almost more than this kind of problem (disconnection the weekend. So you can run the game without too many fears. Be careful if you choose a server for full It may be that there has fairly long lines for the world against the world (for example).

Most:

+ The world against the world. You better have a good configuration for larger battles (100-150 players and graphic effects in spades) but nothing is more epic than to defend your castle against harshly captured huge waves of invaders. When not playing wholesale fashion group / Zerg, you can make small teams and tackle other goals. The maps are huge and the action does not fail (like a weekend I was still standing at 5am with hundreds of other European in the process of typing it).
+ The fight. A lot of players had doubts about the combat, especially the 1 GW players who thought that the strength of Guild Wars was the huge number of "builds" as possible (combination of skills / skills). Finally, I love the combination of skills related to the weapon used, other available skills and the line system allow you to play many different styles with the same personal. The combo system makes fighting with even more interesting allies. The fighting is very dynamic and particularly fun.
Puzzles + / Vista. The vistas are basically environmental viewpoints to reach through a series of jumps, etc. and are in general quite simple. The puzzles are more complicated and often requirent lot of patience. I love fall by chance on one of them and make a "pause" fight and play a completely different adventure style.
+ Environment. I find it particularly immersive. If we take the trouble to pay attention to detail we can discover a rich and vibrant world. Epitaphs in cemeteries, books lying around on a table or bench, conversations that look innocuous but which lead to dynamic events channels. Our actions in this world may also have an impact. The classic example is the village which is free and offers you the service of its traders.
+ The dungeons. I have not done much but the experience has been very good so far. These are a "story" mode which is usually simpler and tells the story of this dungeon explorations and three modes are also available.
+ Community. For now I must say that my experience with other players was very good. We group easily with strangers to perform a common task. Is killed when people come spontaneously help, etc. I do not know if it will last and I'm sure other players have had other experiences but for me, that's good so far.

Cons:

- The camera for large characters. If you play a Norn, the camera will probably ennerver you at one time or another, especially if you do puzzles. In a narrow tunnel for example, if your character is very large, the camera sometimes freezes and makes travel particularly tedious.
- Bugs in quests. It is clear that the areas of the beginning we had a lot more feedback (following the beta) and very few bugs. By cons, in some areas the highest level, there is still a lot of quests or events that seem bugger and prevent you from finishing the exploration areas. I am stuck at 98% for three-among them for about two weeks. I presume it is temporary and ANet take care of everything that once the priority issues addressed but it is nevertheless frustrating to be blocked if ready to go.
- The personal story. It's not really bad, in fact some passages are even excellent. By the end against well qu'épique, left me a little on my hunger ... I sometimes felt to be more spectator than actor. Without spoilers, the final fight I was sitting watching the fight and make screenshots, though beautiful, I was expecting something else. So I would say it's more the irregularity of this personal story that bothers me with all good and downright blah that mix. On this issue too, ANet working to improve the experience of players and so there is hope.

In the end I would recommend buying this game. Without having to pay subscription is really interesting. The world is huge and there is something for every taste. Among my friends, even the most skeptical have found something they like in the game (without of course being able to refrain from criticizing other thing: P). Attention by cons, it's easy to become acro.

PS: For problems accounts, Guild Wars (1) was not very good reputation and the majority of problems seemed to come from the parent company NCSoft. I prefer to judge the game itself that the quality of the same support if it is of course very important. To comment on this one, it's worth reading the comments of others who have had problems and appeal to them.
