I bought the album because I really liked the predecessor. I've lately constantly feel that half the world only plays sad, lame electro stuff. on Metronomy (The English Riviera) I came on Cut Copy and caribou. the album has really swept me. you can listen through from start to finish and when ego had to describe in one word it would be: cheerful. from technical ago wars partly very original abgemischt- wirkllich beautiful ideas and clean mixed, albeit partially processed too rough for my taste. but fits perfectly to the funky nature of the band as Australian pop recently be (must be). Love Letters I've bought without a listen and a seamless transition hoped. sunny day, into the CD radio, discs down but I was frankly disappointed. viiiiel quieter than the predecessor and almost worse: no new ideas, neither musically nor technically. is hard to describe but Metronomy really have some cool ideas had on English reviera. just the distortion of voices, unusual frequencies in the bass, etc. so be sure to check it out. the three stars there because I know one plate and brilliant find. a band must be such comparisons can already fallen, I find.
