Externally, the lens does not have a very high-quality impression. This is due primarily to the plastic and that it is just a lightweight. My objective clatters a little bit, but that does not really bother me. Really amazing, is that the autofocus is bar, but extremely fast. The image stabilizer works very well and also makes no disturbing noises. Immovable objects can thus also freehand in low-light picture taken and I had never delete blurred images so far.
The pictures with this lens are sharp and high contrast over the entire focal length, even at maximum aperture. Chromatic aberrations, distortion or vignetting that would bother me are not noticed me. As for the picture quality, you have to worry with this lens. Of course it may be that one is no longer sufficient, the luminous intensity.
As for video, the STM focused very soft and noiseless. You can hear the engine maybe a little bit if it's really completely silent, but because breathing will make more problems than the focus noise.
I am very satisfied with this kit lens and thankful that you have to look for the camera department for a better lens immediately. I photograph really more with fixed focal lengths or in other focal areas, but had this kit lens, remarkably often in use. I would advise anyone to give up this objective when purchasing a new bodysuits. The surcharge for the lens is really worth it. From me 5 stars.
