Finally back playing Lego :-)

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (video game)

Customer Review

I bought the game to make my girlfriend XBOX tasty. What can I say - has ;-) works for those who are in a similar situation: Buy! : D. From "Bah, videogames" expected, we are now in "Let's play after Pirates of the Caribbean?" arrived ;-)

This is my first Lego videogame. What you read so, these seem to resemble each other but much of gameplay here, only the setting changes well. I for one find the whole package just great.

In principle, most aspects have already been mentioned in the other reviews. Therefore, here I discuss the most important for me.

+ The block diagram looks largely the Lego look is (where it makes sense. The beach is not eg Lego). The water is very nice to look at, both in sunshine, as well as in the darker passages. Very nice is the fact that most of the objects actually flying around in my old toy box. The many small "Lego logos" on the individual articles round off the whole very nice.

+ Extremely brilliant background music! The developers themselves have seemingly nothing composes (goooood). Much more help yourself to one of the unequivocally best soundtracks ever written and this put a screen action accordingly very appropriate. Appropriate music hardware (ie speaker system) assuming already that the mere music to be properly arise Pirate mood.

+ In the op splitscreen only comes when the characters get too far away from each other. The split screen itself is now not a big hit (see below), but this feature moves the players to stay together, but what I find quite good.

+ The violence keeps very limited. Of course, you are fighting with batons, weapons and firearms (some even with throwing bombs) to defeat the enemy. The implementation is rather "cute", as she would remember the slaughter. The figures simply disintegrate into its component parts, which then quickly disappear. No blood, no dramatic death cries.

+ The characters all have received their own unique features. They see not just their role models very similar (as far as I can with Lego) but they also move as. (!) The "slightly feminine-inspired" passage of Captain Jack Sparrow is, for example, nicely implemented. D

+ There can be many (I think ~ 70) Unlock characters with whom the already completed game arcades can be repeated (the so-called "free spin"). In this free game is repeated in principle the campaign (or a section of the campaign, which one chooses), but can change during the game between all free played characters. So places are accessible, which otherwise would not be reached. These places are marked by white / silver glittery objects, eg iron bars and "junk pile", which can be destroyed only by characters with throwing bombs. Behind it then hide the mentioned places. This increases, coupled with the many (until complete) collectable extras, the replay value immensely.

0 The Steurung does not seem quite so simple. I myself have therefore actually garkeine problems. However, I've also been more than a decade gamblers existence under its belt;) At less experienced players some jump passages or longer runs over planks for patience game (especially when you have to jump from plank to Plange)!. In some cases we have made it so that a simple precedes the next "level section" (then both suddenly side by side). Or we just, if present, changed to characters that have already followed the preceding one player.

0 The Rätzel I find that the game from 6 is released, too heavy. When not quite stupid and video game experienced Wed-20s are already partially crisp. If you play as "elderly" with a younger partner (so 6-10) in Koop, this point neutralizes naturally.

0 The cutscenes are made cute, but without speech. There is only non-verbal communication (including certain sounds, such as moaning, sobbing, laughter, etc are). The emotions of the characters were indeed well done, but you do not know (or not) all the films in detail, is meant every now and then do not really know what happened since grade. Therefore, maybe you should look the films before again :)

- In co-op mode the split screen has partially but bad problems. Do you have to make as Will Turner eg. A target with an ax (throw), it may happen that this is not at all, because you just can not see the target. Then the player must return "back" in order to have a higher image on which you can see the higher ground target again.

- In some places, the frame rate breaks (ie refresh rate) for 1-2 seconds rather a, although the image itself is not much changed (ie no sudden, compute-intensive display of fire). This happens very rarely, but should be mentioned.

All in all, as I said, I believe the whole package. We are now no hardcore gamers who want to play all in one day. Much more we sit so 1x / week for a limited time before the mill to simply have a little relaxed fun. The easy street, also for video game novice, makes its own contribution in (so you do not always have the training, as in shooters xD). The humor, the music and just the harmonious overall image fit well and convince even videogame muffle.
