The album has impressed me from the beginning and this creates even today. At that time, the group still right music has made tough but melodic metal. For me (and probably also for others) is "Battle Hymns" an absolute classic. The song `` Metal daze` and Manowar` are still among their best and then the two hymns `Dark avanger` and of course, the Battle Hymn (Battle Hymns), Bright Lights! In `Dark avanger` the great Orson Welles has immortalized. The other 4 pieces are good to very good. The special advantage of Manowar is for me singer Eric Adams. This is one of the best in his field and is one in a series with Ian Gillan, Ronnie James Dio, Robert Halford and Bruce Dickinson. With Ross was also an accomplished guitarist at the start.
With this album, Manowar have influenced thousands of musicians. This influence extends to today. "Battle Hymns" is a classic, which every metal fan should know. 5 Stars.
