A Thousand Suns (Audio CD)

Customer Review

As it has now now probably familiar already in thousands of reviews a few days after the publication; who we studied hard to find all that on this album the old sound of the band, distorted guitar riffs, the mix of Hip Hop and melidiƶsem cry. Who goes with this setting on "A Thousand Suns" can only be disappointed.

Granted, after I listened to the first tracks in random order ("Just have a look listen") also remained with me from the enthusiasm. Minutes to Midnight had not spoken to me already down to one or two tracks. If the successor produced the same impression on me?

No! It is no longer the same band who brought us Hybrid Theory and Meteora (two albums that I still hear regularly today). From rock and nu-metal only traces are on the latest disk to guess.
Despite the radical change, despite leaving the origin, "A Thousand Suns" has what notably if you look at the whole album at a time, from beginning to end, listening.

I have read here in some comments that in some tracks "just anybody what to herself speaks" what makes me very sad. If one of the meaning of these words and speeches, the people and the background behind it is aware, then a well understanding of the intent of the album is missing. Oppenheimer's description of the successful test of the atomic bomb, Martin Luther King's speech about the horrors of the Vietnam War, Mario Savio's protest against oppression give "A Thousand Sun" tons of additional emotional weight and form an important component in addition to the actual songs.

The music is complex and although the number of songs is relatively low, these cover a wide range of genres and moods. In general, the music sounds more electronic than the three predecessors.

Why Linkin Park (here, according to the commentaries) may not make any other music than that which can be found on "Hybrid Theory", I can not understand.

"A Thousand Suns" is a strong album, which should be above all as such belong. Would any other name Linkin Park on the package would probably not stingy with praise. And that's a pity.
