Customer Review

I have been a "Hybrid Theory" (strictly speaking, by "In The End") fan of Linkin Park, the band had in between but a little lost sight of because I did not appeal to her collaboration with Jay-Z really. I found it strange and I have only times other bands and genres facing at the time. When I then with an acquaintance (a pronounced electro-trailers) saw standing this album, I was curious and borrowed it from me. My view of the album is it influenced that I have not really been waiting for an equal sounding successor of "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" a), b) "Minutes to Midnight" did not know and c) also some electronic bands like and this style opposite therefore am very open.
Well, when I listened to the CD, it was love at first sound. The whole thing is of course borne mainly by Chesters unique voice that had me already fully taken into account in "In the end" in its spell. Old love does not rust, one might almost say there already. ;-) Then the melodies: Unmistakably LP. This melancholy, somehow intoxicating much in minor, but still. It makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. Then there is the really crazy mix of styles that makes LP: rock guitars, electric sounds from the synth, Rap, growls - but this time in slightly different proportions. Okay, that may have been a shock to pure metal and rock fans. Nevertheless, I would say this is only logical in such a liberal band where so many genres are represented. Because each style comes time to advantage.
The only smear, I would make here in person (but makes no more than 1/4 star out), is that the very personal texts are missing. Well, the topics that will be covered here (nuclear bombs, war, doomsday) will have the band back then worked intensively. However, they have turned away so that by her inner life and working up of personal experiences (especially Chester), towards the problems of other people. I could identify better with their earlier texts, at least at first glance.
Despite the oppressive themes on this album, I notice that it's very danceable music. Very groovy and heavy beat. But that's what I initially wrote before: Cheerful and deeply saddened at the same time.
My favorites on this album are "Waiting for the End," "Blackout" and "When They Come for me". Where "Wretches and Kings" is also great. Simply because of Wechselbads of feelings that they trigger each time anew.
"Fallout" is for me the only piece that is weakening slightly. The melody is one that though somehow quickly goes into the ear, but also get bored quickly. This could have been designed a bit more interesting.
After 4 or 5 years that I already know the album now, it's still one of the most played in my collection. That says it all.
