"It is a typical Mark Knopfler Album" (M. Knopfler) This description of the musicians themselves take the matter very closely. It does not leave the STP since chosen path. Although he decided at the recent fork of direction "Folk", nevertheless the album lined up seamlessly with the predecessor. Commerce is not to be found here. The songs are consistently not radio friendly (and I am convinced that they would be if Knopfler wanted). Personally, I like, I like the folk attitude, I like the new instrumentation (fiddle, accordion, wind instruments). The balance which sprayed the album settles like a balm to the soul. I expect from a current Mark Knopfler album, and this expectation I see 100% satisfied. A surprising number of items are in 6/8 rhythm, which ensures even at relatively slow pace for a certain vibrancy. The production of the CD is as you would expect, top notch. I've never experienced such a precise and transparent soundscape. The album is the best way through headphones to enjoy, while gliding in his own dream world. My Anspieltipps: "Heart full of holes", "Punish the Monkey", "Let it go" & "in the sky"
Conclusion: This album "Kill To Get Crimson" has with Mark Knopfler Dire Straits - nothing to do past. Those looking for an infusion of Money for Nothing or walk of life, is certainly better be one of the Compilation CDs advise zuzulegen. However, if you want to experience an extraordinary album all of a piece should access here.
