On the subject BUTTONS / SWITCHES: This one advertises on the official site with three different switches: blue, brown, red.
For sale (Amazon), including German keyboard layout, but was only the brown version (hoho :-P). For the difference between the individual colors (there are still a whole bunch of other colors, all of which differ in their pressure-feedback) please ask Google, which would take too long here.
The brown switches I can in any case say that I'm thrilled! The feeling of pressure is (laptop similar to red) between "hard" (black) and "light". The familiarization of the very soft rubber dome keyboard was not as difficult as I had feared. Another big difference from the Rubber dome keys is the Klickgeräusch- unlike the very quiet, almost soundless RB (= Rubber Dome) I feel when you press a button here every erinnern- on old typewriters, each press is VERY audible. However, this noise is defined precisely specify the mechanical Tastaturen- so I knew what I was getting myself into.
The layout itself is not to say that the keyboard is VERY small. Just 37 cm wide, compared with the SideWinder X4 with its almost 50 cm. Savings will be here in the modifier keys (image up, down, printing, item 1, etc.), all of which are housed on the numeric keypad as double occupancy. There are known from laptops "FN" key, which frees access to the secondary functions. The F-keys have a secondary function by media functions (volume, Songs exchange) and setting the backlight. Since the arrow keys with the numbers 1,2,0 and "comma" have two functions, you can (if one is busy with about similar spreadsheet) never simultaneously use the arrow keys, and press figures.
On the subject BACKLIGHT:
That was the main reason why I decided finally that instance. Most other mechanical keyboards in the price segment
All in all, for me a very, very good keyboard.
Negative to complain about on the one hand the already mentioned dual assignment of the arrow and number keys, and on the other hand the lack of Handablage- the keyboard has a very steep angle without restraints on; the wrists upward abgeknickt- liked any joint in the long run, have me so placed provisionally NEN thick socks under my wrist: D
