The least we can say is that I had not loved the first volume! But who bought the two at once and being a little masochistic, I decided to read more. From the start, you feel the change of style. The story is no longer focused solely on Eragon and Saphira, but also on the policy of the Varden and the struggle of the village of Carvahall to survive. The views follow one another harmoniously and exciting way. Alas, the establishment of three stories and very clumsy and gives a rather bitter taste in the beginning of the book. That's why I put only 4 stars. - The first story focuses on Eragon and continues to follow the script of Star Wars. Since the volume followed an Episode IV - A New Hope, it is natural that it follows Episode V - The Empire attack. So Eragon chronicles the formation of Dagoba / at the elves with a former knight jedi Yoda / old dragon Oromis. Fortunately, copying stops there. We will not have right to the famous "Luke I am your father" (although ...). Apart from these troubling similarities, education of the young dragon is truly original and very well described. I really enjoyed myself. - The second story is about the political choices of the Varden. Very well also disclosed. - The third story focuses on Eragon's cousin: Roran. And there, for once, Paolini surprised me! I really do not expect to see it again. In fact, it is the same size the lion's share, because during Eragon learns to listen ants among elves, Roran saw exciting adventures.
