nice folk music near Blackmore's Night and Enya

Under the unwieldy name John Kelly & Maite Itoiz the mixed-gender duo brings a medieval-like, spherical CD called "elves Thal - An Ancient Story" out. The good John was the way earlier in the famous Kelly Family! With many musicians and guests to be underway and unfortunately far too dark cover and booklet, the songs and lyrics are mostly in Spanish and of historical figures such as Juan del Encina, Hildegard von Bingen or F. Guerrero. Musically Maite has here the reins in his hand, produces, takes care of the artwork and also plays many instruments. Well done, the whole is positive and reminiscent of a unkommerziellere, Spanish version of Blackmore's Night with less incisive guitars. "Elves Thal .." is relaxing music for the evening by the fireplace sam book and sounds (partly) sure no coincidence as some soundtracks for Fantasy strips with hobbits and orcs. I would be with (partially) English lyrics and a little less "lalala" in the truest sense of the word rather, but I can escape me the quality of the music is not!
