Customer Review

Delphine de Vigan is a French writer and novelist (the term "novel" is very imperfect for this book).

Delphine de Vigan trying to trace the life of his deceased mother. It is shared between the desire loyalty to his memory and that of lifting the veil on his personal secrets to better understand it.

This book is based on two elements:
1. narration about the life of her mother, from a large family, his joys and moments of pain;
2. the work shared with the reader writing: gather evidence around a person, trying to understand and transcribe especially in writing, all the more difficult when it concerns a very close relative.

The style is very personal. There is one side the talent of the author to prepare the reader, install it in a happy or tragic atmosphere, gradually bring to a conclusion all the more poignant it is imbued with life events . On the other hand, this particular style, made of vibrations, resulting in accordion playing that I like less.

However, this is a beautiful book, full of vitality but also tragic. A picture of an eventful life ...

The work of the author on a personal subject is remarkable.
