POPULAR TALES OF ICELAND

The Giant in the stone boat and other tales of Iceland (Paperback)

Customer Review

These stories are a reflection of a culture and a fascinating history. The humor that emerges and "moral" are foreign to our society, and it's fascinating to delve into the thought system of a country that was then completely cut off from the world and whose survivals of ancient beliefs were not completely suppressed by the church.
The work of Jon Arnasson is equal to that of the Brothers Grimm, and finally deserves recognition too long postponed. The translation is very good. I spend delicious moments reading this book.
