I got the Canon EF-M 22mm pancake lens for Christmas for my EOS-M paid. There is a zoom lens with 22mm loose fixed focal length. So stehts also in the product description, so it should be clear to everyone that he was only what can change the picture, as it passes through the area, suitable recordings) but it is good for most indoor and outdoor. However, if you want to take pictures at the zoo a few animals, but should use a lens with variable focal length (for example, the kit lens 18-55mm).
Processing: The lens feels really dibasic. It has through the large metal component is heavy, which I personally find very good. The bayonet is processed perfectly and fits perfectly on the EOS-M. The focusing ring can be very gentle and turn to infinity, since the focusing ring is not connected to the focusing mechanism. The fixed focal length, it is very small and fits well with the camera into a jacket pocket or handbag girlfriend. Exactly what I wanted!
Autofocus: Since the firmware update for the EOS M, the autofocus for my needs is sufficient. At a party with moderate lighting conditions the camera with diesm lens focuses in most cases less than one second. However, it is subjectively slower than the AF of the kit lens.
It is interesting that for focusing the perception part moves out / in drives and bizarre that it does so as soon as it is supplied with power. I mean, once you put the lens on the camera or the battery compartment closes with a full battery, the inner part moves out and once again clean. I think here should not accidentally put enormous pressure on the lens, to prevent possible damage to.
Image: It is for me a so-called Mach-Schön lens;) It blurs the background / foreground heavily blurred and makes use of the focused object is a super picture! When several people have to be photographed at close range, but opt for a person, if the person does not just stand next to each other. But that's what's so nice to such images)
The Vingnetten effect is not noticed me. But I also use the peripheral light correction of the EOS-M (Is that good / bad?).
Conclusion:
The lens is now my standard for my EOS M and other lenses I would only take if I plan something special. However, I want to run through the area / go to parties and photograph what I see and find interesting, then I do not need anything else. Above all, it is small and therefore perfectly suited for kopakte EOS-M, and thus for the road. The wonderful workmanship and good image quality make me to give full points and a buy recommendation.
