With their new album, the Canada-rockers trying to balance between crash-noisy, but catchy rockers, for they have always been known, and more pop, synthesizer embossed pieces.
While the songwriting consistently still proves a keen sense of catchy melodies and hooks, the pieces not fit in the new style to Nickelback.
The first three tracks on the album are still classic Nickelback rockers or semi-ballads, but then it goes gradually downhill for everyone who after the two openers A million miles per hour, and Edge of a Revolution expected to continue crunching rock songs. Nickelback losing noticeably in mismatched styles such as synthpop and hip-hop (!), And the disappointment of many fans, the result of this is understandable.
It is hoped that Nickelback again pack the synthesizer in the future and present as usual massive rock songs.
From me this time, unfortunately, only 2 out of 5 stars.
