It is not always self-evident that we get offered a very diverse soundtrack in Blood Diamond but this is definitely the case. Many different issues, many different instruments and partly choir accompaniment on offer and leave many moods. Exciting, emotional and partly just thrilling! James Newton Howard has some long been known for his film music for Postman, Signs, King Kong, The Fugitive, Peter Pan (etc.) or because of the collaboration with film music genius Hans Zimmer on Batman Begins policy. Howard was Oscar nominated in frequently and is certainly one of the very good composers and proves here that he must be regarded as one of the greatest of his craft. Perhaps his strongest work at all, he has not delivered. The soundtrack moves from beginning to end at very high levels. Probably only the last three titles, which are songs from the movie do not meet every taste. The Cocer is just falling well managed and relatively thick in comparison to some other soundtrack, some pictures and a commentary by director Edward Zwick are. Thanks James Newton Howard for a very strong score! Exciting, emotional, varied and full of atmosphere, simply outstanding!
