Absolute freshness in Rock

I stumbled by chance on Erik Cohen, as I have recently heard in the evenings entitled "conductor" on the radio. Fortunately, the song abmoderiert so I could remember that the artist's name. Curious, I researched the net and came across a whole selection of other songs that could be seen videos. Admittedly I was initially slightly irritated when I clicked the title "chrome" as this superficially in his slightly demented hillbilly (but anthemic) Art did not want to seem to fit into the more poetic "Conductor". Fortunately, I have repeatedly listened to the song, also because I found the associated clip so unusual. He was not only getting better, but also smarter, funnier word. A real hit. These then dipped into the darkness "captain", which felt about how a short story from Bukowskis "Stories of buried life" and also provided with some barbs crept into his ear. These three titles and a look at the album tracklist sufficed me to "nostalgia for the future" pre-order. I must say that German-language rock music and I really are not big friends. But the easy grip of the first songs Erik Cohen I could not escape me. For this purpose they have traditionally spicy this minimum depth and lyrical tension that I need personally to not have the feeling that they have probably possible to do it with a rather short-term pleasure. The whole board has not disappointed my expectations, but rather surpassed. Because the bandwidth contained timeless rock music is really unusual for a single album and still sounds the plate as a unified whole. Of course I have my personal favorites as "conductor", "chrome" or the wonderfully groovy "wolves", but overall is hardly a song from really, I have not yet the Skip button a single time and the disk since last Friday already heard more than 10 in different situations. "City", "fidelity heart", "cosmonaut" ... The personal hit-list is almost as long as the plate. The first has to create someone. I can think of hardly any rock record one (including international), the me entertained from the state in recent years and so has convinced. I hope "nostalgia for the future" follow many more albums by Erik Cohen! He definitely deserves attention.
