Tour de Force Royal Albert Hall (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Also this concert Mittschnitt from 30 March 2014 in the venerable Royal Albert Hall is absolutely hören- and worth seeing. It is the fourth concert of the "Tour de Force" and Joe Bonamassa's second appearance in the aforementioned hall. The concert begins with an acoustic part, spreading a similar musical mood, such as the recording of the opera house in Vienna. Again Bonamassa has gathered excellent musicians around him. This set my deeming stand out for especially "Seagull", "Jockey Full Of Bourbon" and "Athens To Athens".
With "Slow Train" and other musicians from the concert goes "Power" on. "Who's Been Talking", "Happier Times" "Dust Bowl", "Midnight Blues" ... oh, every song is just great: a smasher follows the other. But is outstanding with 13:14 minutes "The Ballad Of John Henry". From minute 3:36 of the song is only going so right. A driving bass (Michael Rhodes) and drums (Tal Bergman) accompany a great keyboard solo by Arlan Schierbaum and the guitar solo by Joe Bonamassa. Absolutely worth listening! I now have so often heard the song that he actually would have come out of my ears. But that does not happen until now.
It is also true that songs like "Django / Mountain Time" and "Sloe Gin" are often heard on Bonamassa recordings. But the master understands it this time to grab me again.
For me also the purchase of "Tour de Force Royal Albert Hall" has absolutely worth it. Whether you really any recording of this must be in shelving, and needs of each friend this music decide for themselves. I really do not regret it and am thrilled even after repeated Hördurchläufen.
