The Final Countdown (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This album by the Swedish hard rockers Europe is behind the eponymous song that opens the album, but greatly retarded, in terms of awareness and recognition. But this is totally unjustified, because in addition to the over-song Final Countdown, it contains a number of other first-class melodic rock songs.

"Final Countdown" ... you really have to say something else? Evergreen was formulated almost too weak ... The mere grandiose melody is so well known at the beginning, which is unusual even for a hit song. A magnificent rock song which is probably really outlive all times.

"Rock the Night" is certainly not a great success, but certainly ideal to get back on solid ground after the pompous opening track. An entertaining rock song that shows also significant catchy.

With "Carrie" then approaching even the great ballad the band. I'm not a very big fan of ballads, Carrie find but really not bad, maybe a little melodramatic, but please: We are in the 80s gentlemen!

"Danger on the Tracks" ... a little more varied than Rock the Night but of very similar design. Come live over much better.

Then come on finally "Ninja" ... besides Final Countdown by far my favorite track on the disc. Melodic, with catchy rhythm and really cool guitar solo.

After a few more to come, all of them quite good tracks, under which then only the following on Ninja "Cherokee" really excels. Clear the songs have ne certain resemblance to one another, but that does not detract from their class.

For me, this album is an underrated part of the discography of a band anyway grossly underestimated.
