Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: portals into infinity - [Nintendo 3DS] (Video Game)

Customer Review

After Pokemon Black 2 / White 2 Nintendo mercy again and supplies the wait founded on the new editions fan base in the spring again with a new mystery dungeon offshoot. This is still the "so many games" action, offering, among other things this game as a free download, the diligent buyers. Is it worth all the fun for the usual price for fans and newcomers, or should you prefer to bridge the waiting time until the fall of 2013 otherwise?

Presentation:

At this point, I have to acknowledge without envy that the new PMD part over its predecessors graphical things have righted ground. While the parts of the DS still cope accused that you were there with something better abgespeisst GameBoy Advance graphics, so the newest offshoot is the one in quite farbenrohem and generally quite nice but anzusehendem 3D and also used to represent the Pokemon from the Pokedex 3D polygons known what also again hermacht more. My taste has indeed still not taken, since I find that known from the Bilang published form from appearing in the fall episodes Pokemon X / Y "Cel Shade" models yet to capture the charm of the Pokemon world better.
Otherwise, not much has happened. The background melodies are still insignificant Gedudel no acute danger earworm, also do not interfere with repeated listening while exploring dungeons but longer.

Story:

Well, I formulate the times carefully. If I buy a Pokemon game, I do not expect dramatic as that of a grown-up game, but the permanent "Let's create a paradise for all Pokemon" Pokemon Geblubber my partner I would then but compared to the games of the main sequence on the Kitsch Head a few floors higher settle ... These must be mentioned once that I find at least that the Pokemon series with Black / White in terms of story but has also delivered an almost perfect job. For a (very) young audience the story is sweet and innocent and cuddly and blah but everyone else will not miss anything when you press the dialogues blind.

Gameplay:

I do it once briefly and list the most crucial changes. There are no regular "hunger value" more what makes exploring the much less demanding, because you need to stop worrying about food. To me that is part of a dungeon crawler, but to shame. The level up the attacks by frequent use, I find quite motivating, just like the fact that unused Pokemon level up with your active team. So you can choose freely from his Pokemon collection in later dungeons, without having to rumägern with unterlevelten "Bank Pokemon". Annoying power-leveling here falls away so. And the best: At last I can choose my attacks quickly and easily all over a button instead of having to navigate my way through the dreary menu, thank you! - Was about time. Otherwise, there are a couple of new facilities in the base city and also the aforementioned Pokemon paradise that you can gradually expand further. Also a motivating feature has what of Harvest Moon and the new Animal Crossing. But bottom line, I also think this dungeon crawler, like its predecessors, unfortunately a bit too long and too uninspired to stand out from the crowd. Who already sees the Pokemon brand as a reason to buy, is here surely have some fun with the concentrated load Pokemon Power. Who less to the pocket monsters, as is situated on a long-term motivating dungeon crawler that finds better. PMD: portals into infinity is certainly no worse than its predecessors, but unfortunately not much better.

Summary:

+ Beautiful Pokemon and environments
+ Lively city and motivating "Pokemon Paradise" -expanding
+ Some small improvements in the game mechanics

- Story may exceed the threshold of pain Kitsch many player
- Still quite culmination Free 08/15 dungeon Gekrabbel

Conclusion: For (young) Pokemon fans certainly worth a look who's coming for the playful value will not stay long, because there are better on the sector.

PS: I find it a little insulting that PMD Pidu indeed with the fewest Dungeons out of line, but additional, as the fashion is apparently now available in e-shop money to download. With a scope as the Fire Emblem Awakening I will not complain but since the new Mystery Dungeon had a few more "regular" in-game Dungeons not bad done.
