Although Shyamalan from the fabric of the anime series Avatar would have more out, I walked out of the theater satisfied. Beautiful images, a mystical and heroic mood and a soundtrack of the finest quality. Shyamalan's house-and-yard-composer James Newton Howard has once again pulled out all the stops and surpassed himself. The music for the film is sometimes very epic, then quiet again, heroic, melancholic and full of action. Exactly what you would expect in a fantasy epic like Avatar or The Last Airbender. (Something similar I also of James Horner for Avatar (the real) expected, but oh well ...) I do not want to go into the individual title (I hear the soundtrack always completely) but want the last track but emphasize here. Flow Like Water is, if you know the soundtrack, but the film is not, by far the most anticipated titles in the film. Without wanting to give too much away, this title is something special. Generally, not only in this soundtrack, but in the film music. So much expressiveness and energy that James Newton Howard has put in here, I've already long no longer belongs in one piece. And this title is for me the really catchy, the missed the previous speaker: one knows a subject already out of the trailer, the other keeps cropping up in the score and is recognizable by its wave-like dynamics. And this is in my opinion also the theme of the film: As Aang has learned curbing the water in this first book of this flow to hear again and again. For the next film, Howard will come up with a new safety issue for the earthbending. But enough written, no one else reads by AS. One thing I've still: Unfortunately, the soundtrack is currently (August 2010) is not yet available in Germany. But who has a credit card or a bank account in the US, the CD can also order on Amazon.com. which is even a little cheaper.
