Have this lens bought in August 2010, that I own it for about 4.5 years. In the time I have made thousands of photos with this lens and my 5DMK2. Now since 2 weeks on my new MK3.Weder the lens broke down in the period nor has it otherwise had any errors. This lens can be wonderful wide-angle, as do also very close shots of animals, flowers, etc.. In the central area, it is ideal for portraits. This lens produces sharp photos in my 'Preferred aperture range of about 5..8. Blurred images there is only when speed / aperture-ISO is not right and is formed by movement blur. When I photograph our cat so that Häärchen are around the nose to recognize super sharp, and that where the images enlarged properly on the monitor. For all the shots (as always plan) I can only recommend this lens. And because of the noisy image stabilizer, I can only say that it does not interfere with it in a quiet room, our cat. And who really extremely sensitive ears. As a person is barely audible. Mirrors Impact of the camera is much louder! With my camera (full frame), it is highly recommended as always top !!
