Customer Review

After "Sufi, my love," "architect of the Sultan" is the second wonder to move my hands, and Elif Shafak is now one of my favorite authors!

Jaurais so much to say about this novel that I would not even know where to start.

I just finished reading den, and my heart is heavy demotions. This book maura brought joy, sadness, delight, dream, magic.
Nothing that coverage is an invitation to exotic scenery, and soon the first tour page here carried us in the 16th century in the heart of the Ottoman empire.

Istanbul, the city of seven hills snatched my, bewitched, trapped in the nets, sometimes adorned with wealth, exuberance, finesse, and sometimes tainted with misery, poverty, distress and grief.

It is a beautiful oriental tale that has lauteure full of facts and figures who really existed.
The book's title embodies in my opinion two men imperial architect Sinan, historical figure who has scored countless Istanbul and surrounding buildings (mosques, bridges, hospitals, ..) and have survived until today. And then there Jahan, the hero of our novel, a fictional character who will shoulder the role of a master of the four apprentices Sinan. Ultimately, it will also be a great architect.

Jahan happen in the Ottoman empire gem at the age of 12 years in the company of Chota, a white elephant. Together they grow up like brothers and will face the turbulence of life.
Through the history of Jahan, Elif Shafak takes us into this century magnificence and cruelty.

I am delighted by this novel. I've never been bored at any time, so the writing is rhythmic, fluid and captivating. Also hard to leave all the characters, as endearing as each other

Excellent reading.
