After John Barry Jerry Goldsmith is one of my favorite composers !!! Legend I knew so far only in the short version on LP. The CD has but about 30 min. more music and finally this wonderful title theme. The quality of the recording (as in 1985 originated) is obviously better than usual when older recordings are captured on CD. Jerry Goldsmith sees it brilliantly, the mood of the (absolutely wrongly) reproduce torn film's. It creates a unique atmosphere to its typical and ingenious way! Why the US distributor at the time another music chose (Tangerine Dream) for the US Puplikum, will always remain their secret. Unfortunately, Ridley Scott went back not very nice with Goldsmith to and highlighted a few scenes in the cave of the prince with the music from Psycho II (!!!), for whatever reason! Here would (ie on the CD), but we can see how much more brilliant the film have been if Scott had just left his fingers from the soundtrack !!! Anyway this soundtrack is undoubtedly one of his best works and is in my opinion only by the music to "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" (just awesome the music for Star Trek I) topped !!!! Anyway, as Goldsmith fan should have this CD on the shelf!
