How this disk completely wrong (forward) I will my sentenced, it is worth far only one or two star. Of course, the devastating criticism is the result of not quite fulfilled the high expectations of the band name Sepultura. But you should keep in mind that the songwriting is still relatively young (it is indeed only at the second album after emerging from the creative head Max) as opposed to the musical wealth of the former gods. This they are now certainly not more, but that is as true on Soulfly. So you should also assign Max Cavalera his share of the blame, because to drop the band at the peak of his career and the basis of recommendations of his wife and producer a solo career (Soulfly = Max Cavalera, the other musicians are replaceable and were also often already replaced) to start, only after initial high ("Primitve" was a power) zero numbers like 'I Believe' or publish 'Mars', is unforgivable. However, it comes to me here not to blame, but rather to appease the expectations. Measured with other CDs this one is certainly not to be provided with the minimum rating. Well, but now for the album itself. The vocals of Derrick Green is not nearly as bad as depicted here, albeit to lengths not as strong as that of Cavalera. Compared with other scene bands but I want to say that it is still above average. That would point perhaps rather confirm if the name were different. Otherwise, we have of course still do it with three other exceptional musicians. Nevertheless, the album uses it at first nothing, it is very slow to get going. Although the first songs are not entirely bad and have high recognition Wehrt, they justify not make the purchase. That changes abruptly with 'Vox Populi', an atmospheric Kracher, the pure skin and live fully determined. Then it is also at a high level and with a lot of variety and ingenuity on. The next two songs live from the exchange Temperate passages (at zweiterem with tribal influences) and hard but catchy choruses. 'Who Must Die?' sets much on rhythm and groove, is to therefore also very brutal. 'Saga' I think one of the strongest songs on the CD, not least because the musical and lyrically deep chorus. Then it continues with two very different experimental numbers that are hard to describe, best check it out ... 'Cause Human' is a relatively short outburst, the not with boards as' Dictatorshit ',' Against 'or Soulfly's' LotM can 'keep up. Finally, the actual album again hard, slow once breathed mystical, once instrumental and done is the actual album. On this Digipak however it goes into the next round, in the first three covers of Bauhaus, Crucifix and Black Flag final change of musical style direction confirm Hardcore. The former, "Bela Lugosi's Dead" convinces with an oppressive mood, "Annihilation", however, is a highly concentrated settlement with imperialism and inhumanity, while "Rise Above", in this form, as it is presented here, which is just brachialste call for rebellion I've ever heard from the punk-sector. Then there's a demo ("Revolt") and a live song ("Roots Bloody Roots"), this song by Max really far better sound than with Derrick, which is above all the fact that Max a very close relationship with the song has. So thanks to the bonus tracks and a total of no less than 20 tracks at a handful of real firecrackers can be awarded four stars without hesitation. Keep it up, and Sepultura will be back on top. Rise Above !!!
