This score Howard used an incredible amount of electronic elements. Drums and beats with lots of percussion, still sounds 'Green Lantern' is not the same as a typical Media Ventures- score. Through the perfect mix of synth and orchestral Howard creates a wonderful sound, particularly the main theme shines splendidly when the trumpets the 'Green Lantern'- play motif. This sounds already at the beginning in 'Prologue / Parallax Unbound'. This theme runs through the whole score and flourishes particularly in 'Welcome To Oa' and 'We're Going To Fly Now' on, anyway two absolutely beautiful and breathtaking tracks! Here Howard also presented the second major issue that Oa topic.
Something gentle hear the motif in 'The Ring Chooses Hal' or 'The Genesis Of Good And Evil'. Mainly composed the soundtrack but for fast action pieces. Noticeable here are 'Drone Dogfight', the hectic 'Run' or the pompous finale 'Hal Battles Parallax', my favorite next to 'Welcome To Oa' and 'We're Going To Fly Now'. Howard turns here nice and shows a rousing showdown, leaving the score then fade very melancholic.
The quality is good and also in quantity (50 minutes) you can not complain. 'Green Lantern' is a surprise. No reinvention of the wheel, but the music is really a pleasure, can listen several times without problems and offers all that you would expect as a film music lovers on a superhero soundtrack.
